I have battled with learning as I have had an ex mother live with me and her partner who never gave me any peace and quiet and always had the television on whenever I needed peace and quiet but I have battled with this and have still passed my tmas.

So it just goes to show you can do anything in your life and the skillstrain tutors are fabulous.

But I thought to myself come on you can do this and I am determined in life that I want to pass this course and will do everything in my power.

So whatever life throws at me I will be there studying every night to increase my knowledge in the IT industry and I just want to thank all the tutors for all the support they have given me and I will always be grateful for this.

Thanks skillstrain.

I Concluded my masters degree in petroleum geoscience with a distinction and also and an award from the London Petrophysical society. And surely I thought that I would get a job immediately. I waited for months but no success . They said It was the credit crunch. Well I had to do something but I had no strength in me to study again after a massive full time masters degree program in which I went to school from 10 am - 5pm, 5 days in the week and studied and did assignments during the weekend. Let alone in a field so different from the one that I hold a masters degree. To start re-training again? Ohhh. Well as challenging as it was to start studying over again in a new field completely after all that I had gone through in the past year was very difficult. But I told myself that I can do it and that I will do it in record time cos my stamina is gone. so I enrolled on July 17th , 2009 with Mr James. It was a great decision . I have never scored less than 90% in my TMAs and have scored 100% in 14 TMAs out of the 19 I have submitted so far. I have written my CIW Associate certification exam on the 30th of September and got 77 out the 85 question right giving me a score of 90.5%. I completed that in 2 months and 13 days precisely. I am excited that I set a target of three months and completed it in record time. I am building websites now and learning other scripting languages like PHP , JavaScript , AJAX and perl which are not taught in detail in the course but will help me and give me a better chance in securing a job. I am really excited. I have exceeded my expectation. I am hoping to complete the whole course before the end of November and I will do skill-train and myself proud. My friends who have been in the same situation like me are looking to join skill-train because of the skills I am already displaying and the prospects before me now. Thanks skillstrain. Thanks for your time to read all this too. Thanks.

In the year 1992 when I was about 16 years old and I was in Standard 10th (SSE Board) I was awarded by best student of the school award because of scoring highest marks in math. After one month when I sit in the final exam of the same standard I failed because of Computer Mistake or Error. No one from my school including Principle or any of my Teacher was ready to accept this as this incident was spoiling my future. My Father and Mother motivated me and encouraged me to do something else. Then I started doing Certified Novell Engineering which was next to impossible to be successfully in that at my age and with my qualifications. I started and try to learn that just by studying more and more. I remember I have never studied less then 12 hours a day and I was the first person in the whole state who has successfully completed all the requirements to become a CNE (Certified Novell Engineer) & CNA (Certified Novell Administrator). It was the matter for me and my family to be proud and that gave me motivation to do further. I will definitely say it's my one of the achievement.
Thanks
Regards

My achievement is that I am now studying harder. I look back over my work and I have struggled with I.T glossaries. However I am hearing impaired and when I ask for help from tutors, they are very helpful. I felt I have improved and am continuing to concentrate on my studies so that I can clearly understand clearly. I am happy to carry on and build up my confidence with this study and the tutors are excellent in explanations.

I have made a massive achievement in my life I am 43, two years was the first time I have touched a computer ever in my life. I then did a beginners class at night at my local school. I used to look at a computer and freeze as all I could see was the delete button, I was scared that if I touched that everything was gone. I got brave and went to night school.OMG I was sooo scared, but I did it, the teacher I had for ten weeks helped me get over my fear also being blind in one eye and short sighted in the other he got me a big keys keyboard, and showed me that the delete button was nothing to be scared of. I taught myself a few things as I gingerly explored the pc. now WOW look at me now two years later I am doing a website designing coarse and wow shock horror my scores so far are amazing I have surprised myself and my husband is so proud of me that means a lot.

I new a little bit about IT when started. The average from my TMA's is around 90% so I think I'm doing pretty well.

Moreover I started helping people at work with their computer problems and have now become an IT geek in the office :).

Thanks to Skills Train. Keep up the good work.

I have had to take to two to three months off from studying to complete a work project which was taking up more and more of my time and taking me from my family life. I was involved in a start up warehouse which involved every aspect of distribution.

I told my manager that I was training as a IT Technician and that my strong points were setting up the LAN including wireless, he assigned me to the IT department and the project manager just threw me in at the deep end.
I like to think that I made a huge difference in setting up but it was of course it was huge team effort.

my studies with skills train have gone two ways, it help me focus on the project I volunteered for whilst at the same time has cost me several months of study time for qualifying as a technician by gaining work experience which is priceless.

my deepest thanks go to my project manager and of course the skills train team who have been patient with me whilst I have disappeared for two or months at a time with out submitting any course work.

again thank you skills train for the skills I've acquired and the confidence to take on extra contracted work.

I have passed my CompTIA exam a few weeks ago and can say that Skills Train definitely helped me to achieve this goal. This is the first studying I have done in quite a few years. When I started this course I did not have any children but now I have two children. I have also had to operations and through all of this a full time job. So I have to be honest and say that fitting studying in was a real struggle at times. I would feel very tired and wondered if I could do it. However, with support from the tutor team I did pass the exam and have now gone on to start the MSCE course. If you really want something you can do it, especially with Skills Trains help. Good luck

For the last year I have been working for an Electronics company which among other things has a computer section that covers all the components required for home computing and small business. Although I previously had some technical knowledge it has been difficult to deal with customer enquiries regarding detailed aspects of computers including PSU's graphic cards, networking and the troubleshooting of hardware failures. Due to what I have learnt on the CompTIA A+ course already I have been able to solve a number of problems for customers that I would not have previously been able to do. One situation in particular concerned a gentleman who relied completely on his computer for his livelyhood. After adding a new graphics card to his computer he was advised by another local Nationwide computer retail chain on changing his PSU to provide enough power for the additional card. A few days later his computer started to smell of burning and failed completely. After finding no help with the retailer and being quite frustrated and worried that he could not afford a new computer he came to us looking for advice. After are initial discussion and my recent module on PSU's it seemed clear that his PSU he had been advised to get was either faulty or inadequate for the task. Once an inspection of the computer could be done I identified the graphics card and its own power requirements as well as the rest of the computer's components. The card required 20 amps more than the PSU he had been advised to get could provide. From this and what I had learned I was able not only to recommend an appropriate PSU but fit it and checked that no permanent damage had occurred. Up to this point I had been supervising Audio Visual and Public Address enquiries. Thanks to just the first few modules of the course I have been able not only to help the gentleman keep his ability to keep his job but I am now being given the opportunity at work to take on more computer enquiries and troubleshooting thus making sure I have job security in an uncertain retail business period. Thank you for the chance to do this course and the gentleman I helped thanks you too!

I have achieved a few things this month, but these things have been very significant towards the direction of my life as a Cisco network engineer. I managed to finish part A of the 1st section of my course with very good marks on my TMAs', and I also helped 4 people troubleshoot and fix minor problems on their computers using the ASID technique of trouble shooting. the biggest achievement was helping replace and network about 32 computers for an organisation I volunteer for in ipswich. and because I did not need much help or explanations [thank to skillstrain] it only took just 2 of us to do the job i.e. the IT guy for the organisation and me.
