SkillsTrain Success Stories |
I passed my CCNA 640-802 exam on 19th of June 2010. I am doing full-time job and studying. After 6 months hard work for study and got good support from SkillsTrain, I am able to achieved 936 score out of 1000. Thanks.

My mother drew a distinction between achievement and success. She said that achievement is the knowledge that you have studied and worked hard and done the best that is in you. Success is being praised by others. That is nice but not as important or satisfying. Always aim for achievement and forget about success.
I am so thankful to everyone at skillstrain to be there all the way to my achievement and passing my exam. I have passed and got my career ID and certificate from CompTIA.
Thank you skillstrain.

I have managed to create a basic online calculator using JavaScript. This May be achieved with basic knowledge of JavaScript but it is to date the most impressive thing I have done in relation to the course. I have been a student for a long time now but have not completed many TMA to date.
However, the practical elements of learning JavaScript as really put the bit between my teeth to knuckle down and get more work completed.
I have now settled in my new job as a Graphic Designer at a local Studio and now hope to press on with the web side of things with help from the Skillstrain.

Though currently not an achievement, it is a step in the right direction. I recently applied for an internal role within the telecoms company that I work for to move from back office admin over to our Voice and Data faults team for customers.
Unfortunately I did not get the role this time, but this was due more to not having hands on experience on dealing with faults but I was praised highly for the knowledge that I had in regards to computers and how broadband works. This is something I would never have hoped to try and apply for if it was not for taking the PA course (CompTIA A+, N+ and MCSA).
I am about to arrange with the manager of the faults area to spend some time over there to listen in and have a try of the faults to get the hands on experience needed until I am able to apply again.
So thanks Skills Train for giving me the confidence to apply for a role that previously I thought was not possible.

After completing CompTIA A+ and N+ exams I've applied for a job as a Tech Support Engineer at a quite big company and I've been offered a job after the first interview. I've been working there only four months but after passing recently the first of MCSA exams 70-270 and letting my manager know about it I've been offered a pay rise and a possible promotion after successful completion of MCSA course.

I've managed to achieve a website only at half way through the course. With the 5 years of now designing websites self-trained. I've managed to use those skills and techniques in order to successfully design websites (www.allstarclan.co.uk) and (www.aharrisandson.co.uk). For example I taught myself how to improve dramatically on flash from just learning about 'Motion Tweening'. With just that little knowledge I self-taught myself on how to use a Flash software called 'Swishmax' in order to design websites in flash. I also taught myself how to create graphics with Macromedia Fireworks MX - for example the allstarclan.co.uk's logo and banner was designed just using techniques I self-taught myself throughout the years.
With the basic qualification of the Diploma in web design I successfully completed 4 years ago I then Managed to use those very basic skills from the diploma qualification and what I'm learning now, and just improvised from there to achieve the success of this website. So far the allstarclan.co.uk website has gained 164 unique visitors and 31746 hits.

In which I am very proud of, considering the website has only been live for a month or so now. Chosen to design a website based on gaming on Xbox 360 because I'm a passionate about gaming on consoles for years now and thought it would be better to design a website based on something I've got a big interest on. My further reasons for why this site was designed for the Allstar clan is so I can improve on my confidence in web design and use that website as a practical learning base so I can use the skills I've learnt throughout the this course to then implement them on the Allstar clan's website.
I managed to develop and create allstarclan.co.uk website throughout the days and months whilst managing to complete the TMA's. With now at Section 3 Part A my skills can only advance from there to be able to help even further to improve my chances of a successful career in the future.
And I do have problems at home that puts pressure on myself to find that motivation to successfully complete this course. As I'm sure millions of students on this course come across many difficulties and are under a lot of pressure also when studying at home, it comes with trying to be a success. I put in many hard working hours in building the www.allstarclan.co.uk / www.aharrisandson.co.uk websites.

In 2005 I wanted to study for it (information technology), but I spent my valuable time planning to study rather than joining a course and actually going for it. In 2008 I joined an IT course with skillstrain and since I have achieved two certificates (a+ and n+). And I did not succeed in the first go, but I never gave up. Now I am working on the CCNA part of the course. I wish I had started in 2005. My message to students in any field is that, when you want something don't waste your time just go for it. If you find yourself trapped in the corner and feel that you are stuck, there are wide range of solutions available on the internet. All you have to do is search for the solutions and the answers. Finally I'd like to say is that if you are really determined about doing something in life nothing can hold you back, just be hungry for it and you will certainly achieve it.

With a background of retail and an interest in web design and technologies, I enrolled into the E-Commerce course back in January 2008. Two years on and I found a job in a local IT company having expressed interest in the technology. Since then, I have passed my CIW foundations exam and my role has changed (and my salary!) from a predominately sales and marketing role to web marketing management and web design. I now get involved with Wordpress development, writing my own HTML/CSS and Javascript from scratch and even inputting design ideas to the ASP.NET development team!
Support calls originally were a bit daunting at first, but with the studies I did for my CIW Foundations exam I am now able to assist our clients with user issues, including network connectivity and general Windows-based user issues. Passing the exam gave me the confidence to move forward and although there is more to achieve, it gave me the lift that I needed to succeed.

I don't know if this count as an achievement (for me it is). I am still studying CompTIA a+. Recently I built 3 PCs from scratch and helped few others to fix their. My answer on a PC problem was chosen as best answer by the Yahoo! user as the solution to their problem. My technical knowledge is increasing day by day thanks to Skills Train team.

I have been a service engineer for six years now, but the knowledge I have gained from my course with SkillsTrain has helped me to build an Intranet between the five local computers, which used to transfer data by CD's and flash drives, and create stylish advertising emails and prints to boost sales and knowledge of the companys' existence. The company now, with a VPN to external suppliers and sister companies, benefits from a much more efficient and accurate data exchange. Without this knowledge we would still be walking miles with memory sticks and struggling to pass on valuable information to customers.

I have completed my CompTIA A+ and N+ coursework and I'm studying my MSCA coursework now. In the meantime I have set up my own business for repairing and maintaining PCs. My business is called Digital Solutions. Skills Train has made it possible for me to realise my ambitions and that there are many more things I can do.

I have been working for a company close to 4 years and have come from a technical background. My only experience has been with windows client systems and a little NT server so I was brought up to speed over the 1st 2 years on how to manage Windows 2003 servers. I am now capable of automating many user tasks such as managing deployment of printers and users as well as the day to day simple fixes that used to take about 5 minutes just take seconds.
Service management and event triggers are my bread and butter so instead of reactive the service is now proactive and an automated process will kick off if the services fail and fix any issues. The contract I am currently on requires in depth systems and networking knowledge.
A lot of our reporting systems are GUI interfaces which take up too much desktop space and just look pretty and don't instantly give me the information I need. I can find out all I need to from the CLI about a user and the computer they are working on which greatly speeds up my work flow.
I have just passed MCP 70-270 and 70-290 in the same month and have given my manager a few reasons for a pay rise.
