In order to take part in the Live Internet Training you will need to do the following as soon as possible, but certainly BEFORE the date your training is due to take place.  The following is JUST preparation for the event, and not the event itself.

IT IS IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT YOU FIRST NEED TO APPLY FOR A DATE/TIME.  YOU WILL THEN BE ALLOCATED WITH A DATE/TIME.  YOU MUST THEN CONFIRM THE DATE/TIME.  YOUR LIVE INTERNET TRAINING IS NOT SCHEDULED UNTIL YOU HAVE CONFIRMED THE DATE/TIME.  AFTER YOU HAVE APPLIED FOR A DATE/TIME PLEASE CHECK YOU WEBMAILS VERY REGULARLY.  AS SOON AS WE HAVE MADE A BOOKING FOR YOU WE WILL SEND YOU A WEBMAIL.  YOU MUST THEN CONFIRM THE BOOKING. TO CONFIRM THE DATE/TIME PLEASE GO TO CLASSROOM/CYBERCLASS AND CHOOSE LIVE INTERNET TRAINING BOOKINGS.   YOU WILL THEN RECEIVE A WEBMAIL TO CONFIRM YOUR BOOKING.

You must carry out the following preparation PRIOR to the date your session is due to take place.

Initial preparation:

a)      Turn off ALL pop-up blockers on your machine.    Remember that your virus checker may also have a pop-up blocker.
b)      Uninstall or disable Yahoo and/or Google toolbar, which also includes pop-up blockers.
c)      Install Flash Player.  Go to http://www.adobe.com/ and click on the button named Get Adobe Flash Player

You will then be taken to the following page.  It is essential that you UNTICK the check box next to ALSO INSTALL YAHOO TOOLBAR:

CLICK THE BUTTON NAMED INSTALL NOW.

d)      From within Internet Explorer click Tools and choose Internet Options.  Choose the Security tab. 

Select the Trusted sites icon (the white tick in the green circle).  Now click on the button named Sites.  Type the following address
http://lit.skillstrain-online.com/ in the box named Add this website to the zone, deselect the checkbox Require server verification (https:), and then click on the button named Add.

The address will then appear in the list in the box named Web sites.

Click OK on the Trusted Sites box, and then click OK on the Internet Options box.  The initial preparation is now done.  You must also carry out the following preparation BEFORE the date of your Live Internet Training session.

1.     Go to the following web site address: 
                   http://lit.skillstrain-online.com/
2.     A Log In box will appear.  Type in the username and password you received in the confirmation webmail.  Then click the button named Log In.
3.     On the LEFT hand side of the screen you will see four links: 

1. My Schedule
2. Public Events
3. Downloads
4. Logout

CHOOSE THE LINK NAMED DOWNLOADS.

4.     There are then two links, choose the SECOND link named CLIENT INSTALLER (WINDOWS).

Four items are then listed.  Move your mouse to the words SETUP.EXE within the first item and click on those words.

A box will appear, choose RUN.  You will then need to wait a few minutes.

Depending on the setup of your computer a second box may also appear after a while, again CHOOSE RUN…Click NEXT, YES and NEXT, and then FINISH.  Depending on the setup of your computer a third box may also appear, always choose RUN.

Once this has finished, click the BACK button on your Internet Explorer toolbar.  You should then LOGOUT.

You will need to have speakers connected to the computer that you are going to use. 

On the day of your Live Internet Training

1.      YOU SHOULD GO TO THE WEBSITE : 
                http://lit.skillstrain-online.com/


2.      YOU SHOULD LOG BACK IN AGAIN ON THE DAY YOUR LIVE INTERNET TRAINING HAS BEEN SCHEDULED FOR, USING THE USERNAME AND PASSWORD THAT WAS GIVEN TO YOU ON THE CONFIRMATION WEBMAIL.

3.      PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO GAIN ACCESS TO YOUR SESSION EARLIER THAN 15 MINUTES BEFORE THE TIME IT IS DUE TO TAKE PLACE.

4.     CLICK ON MY SCHEDULE.  UNDER THE UPCOMING TAB YOU WILL SEE THE SESSION OR SESSIONS YOU ARE DUE TO ATTEND.  CLICK THE WORD ATTEND.    TRY TO JOIN US 15 MINUTES BEFORE THE START TIME FOR YOUR SESSION.

5.      AFTER YOU HAVE CLICKED ATTEND THE SESSION WILL BEGIN TO DOWNLOAD, JUST LEAVE IT TO DOWNLOAD.  IF THERE ARE ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE DOWNLOAD IT WILL BE BECAUSE YOU HAVE NOT PREPARED YOUR COMPUTER FOR LIVE INTERNET TRAINING, AS DESCRIBED IN THIS DOCUMENT.

6.      WHEN THE DOWNLOAD IS COMPLETE, YOU WILL AUTOMATICALLY GO TO THE CLASSROOM AREA.  PLEASE JUST WAIT; DO NOT CLICK ANY OF THE BUTTONS OR ICONS.  PLEASE WAIT UNTIL YOUR TEACHER BEGIN TALKING.  THIS WILL HAPPEN AT THE SCHEDULED START TIME.

Remember, you must have sound on your computer in order to be able to hear the teacher.
